First of Falkirk's over 80s get their COVID-19 jags

A number of Falkirk’s over 80 population received their coronavirus vaccinations at Falkirk Town Hall earlier today.

The residents were the first NHS Forth Valley patients to attend the community clinic at Falkirk Town Hall.

An NHS Forth Valley spokesperson said: “These will be held at a number of local GP practices and community venues. Clinics will take place as part of a rolling programme throughout January and February, so not everyone will receive an appointment letter at the same time.

“Please do not contact your GP Practice as they will arrange to contact people aged over 80 direct and district nurses will also arrange to vaccinate any people who are housebound.”

Community venues administering COVID-19 vaccinations include Bo’ness Town Hall, in Glebe Park, Stewart Avenue, Bo’ness (for patients from Forthview Practice, Kinglass Medical Practice and Richmond Medical Practice), Dobbie Hall, in Main Street, Stenhousemuir (for patients from Parkview Medical Practice, Stenhouse Medical Practice, Tryst Medical Centre and Viewpoint Practice), Falkirk Town Hall, in West Bridge Street, Falkirk (for patients from Antonine Medical Practice, Ark Medical Practice, Bonnybank Medical Practice, Graeme Medical Practice, Meeks Road Surgery, Parkhill Medical Practice, Polmont Park Medical Group, Wallace Medical Centre and Westburn Medical Practice) and Grangemouth Town Hall, in Boness Road (for patients from Bo’ness Road Medical Practice and Forth Medical Group in Kersiebank Avenue, Grangemouth).

The vaccine is administered in two doses at two separate appointments up to 12 weeks apart. It is important people attend both appointments for the vaccine to be fully effective.
