The vaccines will be delivered over the next few weeks and people in this age group who haven’t received their appointment letter by Monday , May 31 are being asked to get in touch.

They can complete the online form for missing appointments on the NHS Inform website or telephone the national Covid-19 Vaccination Helpline on 0800 030 8013 (8am to 8pm, 7 days a week).

Anyone aged 40 and over who has been invited for a vaccination but has been unable to attend is being urged to re-book by contacting the local Covid-19 vaccination helpline on 0800 130 3120 or email [email protected]

Latest figures issued by Public Health Scotland on Monday show that the total number of people in Forth Valley who had received their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine stood at over 180,000, with more than 91,000 having received their second dose.

Jillian Taylor, Operational Lead for NHS Forth Valley’s Covid-19 Vaccination Programme, is pleased with the progress being made locally and urged anyone who is eligible for a vaccination to get one.

She said: “We are delighted that we are now able to move into the 30-39 age group.

"If anyone over 40 has still to receive an appointment, or has been unable to keep their appointment for any reason, please get in touch and we will book you in.

"The uptake in older age groups and those with underlying health conditions has been fantastic, meaning we have protected the most vulnerable people in our local communities who are most at risk of the virus.”

Vaccinating the 30-39 age group will be followed by those aged 18 to 29.

More details on the national arrangements for this final age group will be issued shortly and the aim is to offer a first vaccination to all the adult population across Scotland by the end of July 2021, subject to vaccine supplies.
