Proud Camelon piper Paul thanks key workers

A proud former soldier played the bagpipes to say his thank you to NHS and all other key workers.

Paul Donnelly from Camelon was taking part in Pipe Up for Key Workers which took place at 8pm last night to coincide with the second Clap for Carers.

Pipers from all over the country played Scotland the Brave to show their gratitude

Both were to allow people throughout the UK to say thank you to NHS staff, emergency services personnel, carers and all key workers who are doing their bit during the coronavirus pandemic.

Paul (45) served with the 1st Battalion Royal Scots between 1993 and 2000, seeing tours in Bosnia and Northern Ireland and receiving medals.

Daughter Shannon (19) said: “He has a lot of respect for the NHS, carers and all key workers for the amazing job they are all doing so wanted to take part.

“He played Scotland the Brave while people in our street were clapping.

“I’m a support worker in the community which gives him someone to cheer for. His message to everyone is stay at home, save lives and help the NHS.”T
