the 2012 West Lothian Toy
Appeal has been one of the best ever.

Toys handed in at Xcite centres,
including Linlithgow, were three times that of last year.

This year, more than 1,200 children from more than 400 families in West Lothian will benefit from the appeal, up from 330 families last year.

The families include some from the most disadvantaged families in the
district, either socially or financially.

Toy appeal coordinator Wendy
Simpson said: “The donations have
increased drastically this year and we
really appreciate every one of them.

“I would like to thank Xcite for their support and I hope we can do this
together again next year.”

Robin Strang, chief executive of Xcite at West Lothian Leisure, added: “We were delighted to play a part in such a worthy cause and we would like to thank everyone who contributed to the appeal, many of whom are customers at Xcite.

“It can be a hectic time of year and for people to take time out of their day, and donate gifts, highlights how generous and kind people in West Lothian are.”

The Miss West Lothian girls again
supported the appeal.

Newly crowned Miss West Lothian, Hayley Galloway, said: “All the girls were pleased to help the Toy Appeal this year, and it’s fantastic to know that on Christmas morning so many children in West Lothian will be excitedly unwrapping presents they otherwise wouldn’t have had.”
