QUEENSFERRY Ambition has launched new branding that will have people ‘Q’ing up to see what the town has to offer.
Local graphic designer Jon Evans of design agency ‘Blood Creative’ produced the new branding, which was launched on Tuesday to a number of Queensferry businesses at The Boathouse Restaurant.
Jon said: “I wanted to create an identity that would work on a number of levels.
‘‘Firstly, to promote the organisation Queensferry Ambition, but also, perhaps more importantly, to promote Queensferry the location.
‘‘I wanted to invite people to either discover or even rediscover Queensferry.
“The creation of the Q at the heart of the identity is inspired by nautical references (portholes) and is also reminiscent of a magnifying glass, reinforcing the discovery theme.
‘‘The Q symbol can be used to promote various topics such as retail, leisure, heritage, events and so on.”
Malcolm Brown, chairman of Queensferry Ambition, added: “It must have been tempting for Jon to produce a new identity that once again focused on the bridges.
‘‘However, he resisted the temptation and instead has come up with a new visual identity which can be transferred onto so many different areas.
‘‘It is the next step on our journey to raise the profile of businesses within the Queensferry BID area.”
