AROUND 300 people attended the second Almond Park open day in Craigshill, Livingston, on Saturday.
There was a whole variety of attractions on offer including a hugely popular pet dog show which drew a big entry on the day.
The event was organised by Craigshill Greenspace in response to a previous event held in the park in September last year.
Almond Park was identified by West Lothian Council as being in need of upgrading and the Craigshill Greenspace initiative was the result.
The group has also been involved in park clean-ups and planting operations.
Becky Plunkett, community greenspace officer with West Lothian Council, said the response to Saturday’s event was heartening for the council and for Craigshill Greenspace.
‘‘There were a number of events which had an emphasis on teamwork,’’ she said.
‘‘The musicians from the West Lothian Youth Action Project also got the chance to perform their songs on our acoustic stage and the dog show was very popular.’’
