LET yourself be whisked to Neverland, home to pirates, mermaids and a hungry crocodile, in the latest adventure brought vividly to life by Children’s Theatre Bo’ness.

CTB’s panto ‘‘Peter Pan’’, directed by Nan McDonald and running at Bo’ness Town Hall until tomorrow (Saturday), is packed with swashbuckling action, heartfelt solos and laughs.

With a large sprinkling of fairy dust Tuesday night’s opening audience was spellbound as the fate of Peter Pan (played by Carla Reid) unfolded in this magical tale of friendship and revenge.

Against beautiful backdrops of the night sky and the Neverland jungle, in the Indian village and aboard the Jolly Rodger, the talented young cast dazzled with their banter, singing, dancing and even flying skills!

Throughout the journey, the audience is encouraged to engage with the colourful shenanigans, whether by booing or by joining in well-known pirate song ‘‘What Shall We Do With A Drunken Sailor?”

All the characters gave strong performances with my particular favourite the hair tugging, nose pinching fairy-with-attitude Tinkerbell (Celine Beveridge).

With a tight script that includes references to Johnny Depp and neighbouring Linlithgow, special splashing sound
effects, and a brilliant undersea scene, this is an memorable show for all the family.

Costumes are showstopping, with Mohican pirates and trick-performing Nana the dog just a couple of the highlights.

And hats off to the choreographers, whose routines pack a punch, not least the fairies dancing to Michael Jackson’s ‘‘Beat It’’. Other musical hits featured include Take That’s ‘‘Greatest Day’’, and ‘‘Flying Without Wings’’ by Westlife - the latter proving an emotional close to the whirlwind evening.

Be quick to get any remaining tickets for tonight or tomorrow or the pirates may make you walk the plank!

Shows start 7.15pm; purchase tickets from the Baby Box and S and S Shoes in Bo’ness, 10am-noon Friday and Saturday, call 01324 712443 or visit
