THE dreams of one Linlithgow dancer have come true after she was selected to dance with English Youth Ballet (EYB) next month.

Jennifer Laffan (16) pictured, a pupil at St Kentigern’s Academy, trains at the Amanda Clarke School and Central School of Ballet, and auditioned for a place with the prestigious EYB last year.

The young talent was selected from over 200 hopefuls and will now appear in an electrifying new adaptation of Swan Lake at the Mill Tyne Theatre, Newcastle, in three performances from April 16-17.

Mum Harriet of Bonnytoun Terrace said: “We are delighted for her and will be going down with Jennifer to Newcastle over the easter holidays.

“Jennifer is absolutely delighted as well and it’s a nice opportunity for younger dancers.

“Jennifer has been dancing since she was three and this is the first time she will be in such a high profile show.”

The young dancers in the cast will dance alongside EYB’s stunning international principal artists in a professional production, and Jennifer will be part of an 11-day intensive rehearsal process before the performance.
