New figures show that average house prices in Falkirk have fallen in 2020
Last year, the average price of a house in Falkirk stood at £177,273, however, this year the average home owner bought their property for £175,789, a £1,484 (-0.8%) decrease.
Falkirk came sixth in a list of Scottish towns with biggest fall in average house prices between 2019 and 2020, just behind Aberdeen which saw a -1.4% decrease in property prices.

Hide AdAyr was named the Bank of Scotland’s ‘house price winner’ as it saw the largest increase in house prices in comparison to the rest of Scotland.
The coastal town recorded an increase of 15.5% (£23,839) in the last 12 months, taking the average house price from £154,145 up to £177,984.
Inverness had the largest growth in average price for a city in 2020, with an increase of 8.1% (£14,687) and an average property price of £195,534.
Edinburgh remains the most expensive place to stay in Scotland with the average property price of £274,246, despite only coming seventh place on the property increase table with a rise of 6% ( £15,581) in house prices since last year.

Hide AdLivingston in West Lothian recorded the largest drop in house prices with a fall of 8.1%, equivalent to £15,396 for 2020.
However, house hunters should turn to Paisley in Renfrewshire if they are looking for the most affordable housing as it clocks in with the lowest average house price of £138,036, around three times average earnings.
