A HIGHLAND calf has been born at Beecraigs Country Park, the first of 2012.

The new arrival, who has yet to be named, was born on Monday evening and is already proving to be a crowd pleaser with visitors at Beecraigs.

Eirwen Hopwood, Countryside Manager, said: “She is doing really well and seems to be enjoying all the attention.

“With the Easter holidays starting next week, we are expecting hundreds of people to visit her, but we don’t think she will mind, she appears quite happy in her new surroundings and sticks close to her mum, Sobhrach.”

The West Lothian Countryside Ranger Service Events Programme is now available and packed full of events and information for visitors. The programme can be downloaded at or copies can be collected at park visitor centres.
