The path promises to be for pedestrians, cyclists, equestrians and people pushing prams and buggies or using mobility aids - but a final route has not yet been chosen.

Falkirk Council says that local knowledge will be crucial to getting it right and its consultants, WSP, have created a virtual consultation to tell people more.

The £450,000 project will involve creating 4km of new path, building a new bridge over the M876 and repairing Roughmute Bridge and Bonny Water Viaduct.

A spokesperson said: "The project is at the early stages of development and it would be great to hear your views from the start."
