WEST Lothian Money Week 2012 was a huge success with around 30 events focused on making your money go further.
The week is organised by West Lothian Council and is aimed at getting people to think about their finances and save for the future.
Danny Logue, executive councillor for social policy, said: “It is great news that so many people took part in Better off West Lothian Money Week. The interest and participation of schools was also great - it’s vital that young people start to understand money management as early as possible. The programme was designed to ensure that there is something for everyone from free films to confidence boosting workshops. The majority of the events focused on helping people to get the most out of their money.”
The Tenants Information Day/Big Day Out, at West Lothian Civic Centre on Saturday, October 6, attracted almost 300 people, and included information on how to save money, and advice.
Another popular event, attracting almost 150 people, was ‘Just the Job’, at Fauldhouse Partnership Centre, which gave people the opportunity to meet local employers, improve their CV, and chat with employability specialists, as well as getting better off calculations completed.
