STREET parties and outdoor celebrations are not a Scottish tradition it seems.
Unlike our southern neighbours, we seem reluctant to let our hair down in public - event for occasions like local galas and fair days.
However, as this week’s old picture shows, one section of the Bo’ness community did set its stall out for an al fresco knees up.
Again, it’s an anonymous picture found in a drawer in our office and all it says on the back is Scotland’s Close, Bo’ness. No date or reason for the celebration is given.
The picture appears to have been taken in the 1940s or 50s and it is possible that on of our more mature readers might recall the occasion.
The Journal and Gazette welcomes old pictures for possible reproduction on this page.
Prints can be handed into our office at 114 High Street, Linlithgow, from Tuesday to Thursday or emailed (jpg format) to firstname.lastname@example.org
