Following a recent inspection, officials believe St Mary’s RC Primary School and Nursery needs additional support.
Education Scotland carried out its investigation of the school in Bo’ness and concluded that to make the necessary improvements an area lead officer will work with Falkirk Council to help make progress.
The report states that for the school to achieve it must ensure pupil’s progress is tracked more effectively and make sure the nursery is an integral part of the school.
Lessons need to be developed more in line with Curriculum for Excellence.
The report did highlight some key strengths including the warm and caring ethos created across the school, the behaviour of the children and the commitment of the staff.
Another inspection will take place in 12 months to monitor progress.
