THE PARENTS: Mum Lorna (32) is a clerical assistant in Stirling and dad Graham (29) is a joiner with South Lanarkshire Council. The couple live together with their first born Struan (2) in Shieldhill.

THE PREGNANCY: Lorna said the pregnancy was straightforward.

THE BIRTH: Ruaridh was born three weeks early and at nine days old needed a heart operation. Everything went well and he is now happy and healthy.

THE BABY: Ruaridh is a very happy and content baby who is always smiling. His mum said: “Thankfully he has started sleeping all the way through the night. Struan loves to cuddle his new brother.”

THE NAME: The couple both agreed that Ruaridh went well with Struan. Lorna said: “Both nice Scottish names so it was an easy decision for us to make.” Ruaridh’s middle name came from his dad’s forename.

THE GRANDPARENTS: Ruaridh is the sixth grandchild to Jim and Beth Brown and the second grandchild to Robert and Liz Mitchell.
