Bikers egg appeal

A QUEENSFERRY businessman proves bikers are kind-hearted when it comes to donating to needy causes.

Colin Hart, of Forth Gear, invited bikers along to the bike shop’s annual Muffin Morning event last Sunday and in return for muffins, cake and coffee, they donated Easter Eggs.

Almost 400 Easter Eggs were donated and they were handed over to two children’s charities in Edinburgh on Monday. They were Kinsfolk Carers, which is based in Craigmillar, and the Venchie Children and Young People’s Project, which is based in Niddrie.

A further £100 was raised through a raffle and the proceeds will benefit the Tayforth Veterans Project in Dundee.

Colin said: “We had around 60 bikers make the trip to Queensferry. We had expected about double that amount but the weather detered quite a few. Despite that, it was still a great day as bikers and passers-by mingled on the High Street.

“This was the eighth year we have ran the event and we want to thank the support of local businesses Picnic and Ravenous Beastie for their help in providing cakes.”
