SOME Bo’ness residents were still in the dark earlier this week over changes to their Falkirk Council refuse collections.
A Kinglass estate householder told the Journal and Gazette they had not had any information about the variations, which took effect last Monday, May 14.
“Taxpayers are paying for lorries to come around to collect rubbish that’s not been put out because people don’t know it’s changed.”
Containers must now be ready from 6.45am and some pick-up days have switched.
A council spokesman said: “In changing the day for around one third of our households there were always going to be some teething troubles.
‘‘There has been a number of residents who have expressed some confusion around collection days and we have issued new leaflets to these areas.
“This is the second week of the new service and the number of reported issues has significantly reduced from the first week and we thank the public for their patience while we implement the new arrangements.”
