THERE was a fantastic array of local produce on display when Kirkliston recently staged its annual horticultural and craft show.

With more 600 entries to the various categories in the show, there was a wealth of flowers, vegetables, homebaking and art on show at the village’s community centre, which was officially opened by Almond councillor Kate McKenzie.

Top prize went to Robert Brechin, who gained the highest amount of points to win the Community Association Plate while Tom Milne won the Maurice Pearce Memorial Cup for best exhibit in the flower and vegetable section.

Almond councillor Norman Work, co-chair of the show said: “There was a record amount of entries to the show this year thanks to the local nursery, school, Rainbows and Brownies who entered the arts competition.”
