Music lovers had a treat last week as the Bo’ness and Carriden Band held its annual concert.
It was the 27th time the event had taken place and the audience in Bo’ness Town Hall were entertained by the best the group has to offer.
Bill Braid, who previously compered on the night, said: “The concert saw the culmination of a great deal of hard work and effort which the band members put in over the months to ensure the best show possible.”
Under the baton of Charlie Farren, the band produced an entertaining programme of modern and traditional music for all to enjoy.
Bill, who has passed on his duties to Frank McGarry, said: “The band consists of men and women whose dedication and commitment cannot go unrecognised.
“Not only is there requirement to attend rehearsals and practice, but there is also a financial cost, as not all members live locally.”
This is conductor Charlie Farren’s second year leading the band and, having won the Yamaha Conductor of the Year title, his talent has had a positive impact on the annual concert.
