A Bo’ness family raised almost £700 for the Zak Scott Braveheart Foundation that boosts the morale of young children with heart disorders.
Fiona Gavin and her husband Andrew had a terrifying experience when their one-year-old son Elliot was diagnosed with a congenital heart disorder.
Elliot was three months old when he was diagnosed and just two months later he was having open-heart surgery.
Fiona said: “It was such a scary time for the family. It is not something you are ever prepared for as a parent and I hope to never have to go through it again.”
While Elliot was in hospital the Zak Scott Braveheart Foundation supplied Elliot with a gift worth £75 after his surgery. They also gave him a teddy, a badge and a memo board.
Fiona said: “The foundation was brilliant and it definitely helped cheer up Elliot during his recovery.”
For Elliot’s first birthday the family held a fundraiser and instead of gifts guests were asked for a small donation, raising £684.
Fiona would like to thank everyone for their help on the day.
