COMMUNITY service offenders will help to clear up the old Seddon’s shirt factory gap site opposite Bo’ness fire station, it was confirmed by their team supervisor on Wednesday.

Timescales have yet to be finalised, following the meeting between Falkirk Council’s environmental health and community service officers.

The private site - whose owners Jet Construction went into liquidation - has been branded a disgrace and eyesore by locals.

Before the clean up starts, missing manhole covers will be replaced in the interests of safety.

These have already been ordered by liquidator Campbell Dallas Chartered Accountants and will be installed once delivered.

The liquidator has also agreed to provide skips to collect and remove the waste material and has also requested prices for the removal of the burnt-out cabin.
