AN 84-YEAR-OLD woman had jewellery robbed from her home in Bo’ness by a bogus caller.

The theft took place on Thursday, August 2, between 2.30pm and 3pm at Ochilview Place, when a man offering to buy gold entered the home and stole various items of jewellery.

At the same time another man was seen visiting houses in the same area distributing leaflets with ‘ABERDEEN GOLD’ written on them.

Local police are keen to trace both men. The first is thought to be about 30 years old, 5’10 tall, medium build, with short dark curly hair and a chubby face with long sideburns joining into a beard. He was well mannered and wore a dark suit, shirt and tie.

The second man is believed to be between 40 and 50 years old, 5’8-5’10 tall, medium build and may have an English accent. This man was also well presented.

A Central Scotland Police spokesperson said: “The public are reminded to verify the identification of anyone attending at their house offering any form of service.”
