UP and coming Queensferry based band Bwani Junction are quite literally reaching out for stardom.

The band were looking to play a gig on top of the Forth Bridge to promote their hit track “Two Bridges.”

With the refurbishment of the Forth Bridge coming to a close, the band put forward their proposal to Balfour Beatty and Network Rail regarding the possibility to play a short set for the construction workers on the top but they have been turned down. It was hoped the gig would be filmed by the BBC for inclusion in a short documentary about the band.

Gordon Muir, father of band member Dan Muir, who plays lead guitar and vocals, said: “The Beatles played on the rooftop of their recording studio in 1969 and U2 did it in Los Angeles in 1987. It would have been great if Bwani Junction could have staged a short concert for the men who have completed the work on this iconic Scottish landmark.”

Gordon, who mocked up how he thinks the gig would look, right, believes the disruption would be minimal but the media interest would be huge and the PR value to both Balfour Beatty and Network Rail could have been immense.

Network Rail were unavailable for comment.
