Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Rothesay is to extend her patronage of the Scottish National Equestrian Centre at Oatridge College.
News that the Duchess was “delighted” to remain as patron of the centre until at least February 2017, came in a letter from Clarence House to the principal of Oatridge College, David James.
The duchess became patron of the SNEC in January 2007, shortly before completion of the £3.5 million first phase and she performed the official opening ceremony in May that year.
David James said: “We are deeply honoured that Her Royal Highness has decided to continue as patron of the SNEC.
‘‘Renewal of Royal patronage is not automatic and her ongoing interest will provide a further enormous boost to our ambitions to be and be recognised as a centre of excellence for all equestrian sports in Scotland.’’
