VOLUNTEERS at Linlithgow Union Canal Society have struck precious metal again with another Silver award from the Green Tourism Business Scheme.
This is the second time LUCS have been so highly recognised by the prestigious scheme.
Colin Galloway at LUCS said: “We are very pleased at the progress we have made. We have gained four per cent from when we were assessed two years ago, and we are five per cent short of a gold, so we’re going in the right direction.”
The Green Tourism audit report praised the Canal Basin as a site of cultural significance, and an excellent education resource. Future improvements could include phosphate and chlorine free cleaners, and Fairtrade tea and coffee.
LUCS can next aim for gold in 2015.
