Cash for debt prevention services has been awarded by Falkirk Council’s executive committee.
The £66,000 is from the Fairer Falkirk Fund.
This will cover a full-time money advisor, a support post to guide services through welfare reform and a feasibility study into social enterprise as an alternative to higher purchase firms.
Council leader Craig Martin said: “There are already a number of services in place which provide advice and support for local people who find themselves unable to manage household budgets and bills.
“We hope that these additional services will further enhance and provide even more support during times of hardship.”
