Queensferry Museum is to close to the public for safety reasons.
A deteriorating ceiling at the first floor museum led the city council’s museums service to take the decision to close the facility temporarily.
A survey of the damaged plasterwork has indicated that substantial replastering is necessary and this is scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 10.
The museum is normally open to the public daily except for Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
A council spokesperson said: “The remainder of the local office is unaffected and will remain open to the public as normal.”
