Chamber music duo coming to Linlithgow

Alexa Beattie and Elspeth Wyllie will perform a programme for viola and piano
at Linlithgow Academy on
Saturday, April 2.

The event features music from Schumann’s “A Woman’s Love and Life” with movements which depict memorable milestones from a first meeting through to marriage, and lasting memories of the relationship.

This is paired with music with a related theme by contemporary composer Sally Beamish and a set of Spanish music in Andalusian and Catalan styles by Manuel de Falla, and a sonata by Brahms complete the varied programme.

Both of the professional performers studied at St Mary’s Music School in Edinburgh, and at music colleges in London. Alexa performs with the Munich Chamber while Elspeth performs regularly across Europe.

Tickets for the concert at 7.30pm are priced at £12, concs £10 and students £5, and are available from Linlithgow Burgh Halls on 01506 282720, online at www.LinlithgowArtsGuild.co.uk and also from local outlets including the News and Card Shop, Peterkin and Kidd, Linlithgow Post Office, and Inkspot and Silverleaf booksellers in Bo’ness.

There is no charge for school pupils and all are welcome.
