Hopetoun Farm Shop has appointed Marc Cherrie as its new general manager.
Marc, who joins from Sainsbury’s, is looking forward to making good use of his experience after 16 years working in the retail food industry.
A keen foodie, he is relishing the opportunity to work with the farm shop’s locally sourced food, much of which comes from the estate.
Marc is a keen chef; he came second in STV’s Britain’s Best Dish series in 2009.
The 41 year-old is also a passionate promoter of artisan producers and is hoping to increase the range of locally sourced produce on sale at the shop.
He said: “Hopetoun Farm Shop has an incredible story to tell in terms of heritage and provenance.
“From honey and beef to eggs and game – the estate is a brimming larder.
“And with low food miles and award-winning produce, we can offer the consumer a unique quality food shopping experience.”
