All roads lead to South Queensferry on Thursday, November 27, when the town’s Christmas lights are switched on.
The fun begins around 5.45pm when Santa and his procession leave Scotmid on The Loan and make its way along the town’s High Street.
At the High Street car park area, there will be musical entertainment from Queensferry Community Brass Band, with carol singing from local primary school pupils.
Local ministers will be on hand to offer a Christmas blessing before Ferry Fair Queen Courtney Burke switches on the town’s Christmas lights. The event closes with a fireworks display, courtesy of local hotel, Orocco Pier.
On Friday, November 28, the festive theme continues with a St Andrews Ceilidh in the Priory Church from 8pm while Hopetoun House stages its annual Christmas Fayre from 10am.
On Saturday, November 29, Queensferry High School stages its Christmas Market from 10am.
The following week, Forth Dimension stage their production of ‘Babes in the Woods’ at the Queensferry Scout Hall at Port Edgar from December 2 to December 6.
And on Friday, December 5, Echline Primary School will hold its Christmas Fair at 1.30pm.
On December 20 and 21 there will be a Christmas Winter Market on the town’s High Street from 10am onwards.
These events are over and above various other organised events being staged in the town during the festive period.
