Bag packing, head shaving and a night of partying all helped a couple to win the wedding of their dreams.

Graham McIvor and Lesley Mair were finalists in the Forth One Win Your Wedding Competition. In order to win, each couple had 12 days to raise as much money as possible for the radio station’s charity, Cash for Kids.

The winners managed to raise over £8900 through a series of events, with a total of £26,460 being raised by the five final couples.

Lesley, who is originally from Bo’ness, organised cycling in the Gyle, a half-time collection at a Bo’ness United game as well as bag packing at Tesco in Bo’ness. There was a charity night at The West Port, Hotel, Linlithgow, a sponsored walk, sponsored silence, two bake sales, a raffle and a prize bingo.

Graham had his legs waxed, while Lesley’s friend Becky Evans, who is working in Malawi, did a sponsored 10km cycle as well as one of her friends raising money by shaving her head!

Lesley said: “I’m not sure how much we won by but the couple who came second were also in the £8000 area so it was close. The wedding is on September 19 this year at Norton House Hotel so now the planning for this starts!”

The couple, both 32, would like to thank all the local businesses for donating prizes, and the people for their support.

Lesley added: “A big thank you to all our friends and family who helped us - from baking cakes and tablet to organising the charity night and collecting prizes.

‘‘A special thanks to my mum Liz Mair, my aunty May McLelland, Susie Dodd and especially my cousin Louise Frickelton, without her help we couldn’t have done it!”
