A 28-year-old man arrested on Tuesday evening accused of assaulting Robert Gill to his severe injury and attempting to murder him was refused bail at falkirk Sheriff Court.
James Scott, whose address was given in court as Falkirk, was involved in what the police called “an altercation” in Wotherspoon Drive, Bo’ness, around 7.15pm.
Gill had earlier appeared at the same court on Tuesday morning charged with five sexual offences after spending the previous evening in police custody.
He made no plea or declaration and was granted bail.
Social media has been rife locally with condemnation that a person accused of sex offences was granted bail while his attacker was remanded in custody for seven days.
