Bo'ness man dies in police custody
He has been named locally as Lee Martin, of Bo’ness.
The Police Investigations and Review Commissioner (PIRC) will examine the circumstances leading up to the death in custody of the man who became ill on Monday, July 11, after being taken to Falkirk Police Office.
He was transferred to Forth Valley Royal Hospital but died three days later.

Hide AdA spokesman for the PIRC said: “The Police Investigations and Review Commissioner has been instructed by the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS) to conduct an investigation into the circumstances leading up to the death in custody of a 24-year-old man.
“A report into the findings of the investigation will be submitted to the COPFS in due course.”
A police spokesman said: “In line with the Police and Fire Reform (Scotland) Act 2012 we referred the circumstances to the PIRC and are fully cooperating with them.
“Sadly, on Thursday, July 14, the man passed away in hospital and our thoughts are with his family at this time.

“As such, it would be inappropriate to comment further at this time.”
A Just Giving page set up for funeral contributions for Mr Martin quickly raised over £4,400.
