Dog attacked and killed on Falkirk canal path

An investigation has been launched after a dog was attacked and killed by another dog on a Falkirk canal towpath.

The Lhasa Apso was mauled by what police say was described as a Doberman, however, may have been a black Greyhound.

The incident took place at about 3pm on Thursday, April 22 in Grahams Road, close to the Gambero Rosso restaurant.

Officers are eager to speak to a man who was at the scene at the time of the attack.

He’s described as white, approximately 40 to 50 years old and of medium build with grey hair.

The man was wearing light blue jeans, an orange jumper and a black tammy-style hat.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Along with our partners at Falkirk Council, we are trying to identify any witnesses of this incident and a male who was there at the time of in the incident.
