With the region now in Tier 2 of the Scottish Government’s Covid regulations, police and environmental health officers carried out joint visits to a number of licensed premises on Friday and Saturday.
One venue was found to be operating in breach of the regulations, including a lack of social distancing and alcohol being served indoors without a meal.

Chief Inspector Chris Stewart said: “It is important for me to say that our approach has not changed and the main purpose of these joint visits is to engage with the hospitality and licensing trade and support them in complying with the regulations.
“However, the circumstances which officers encountered at this premises in particular amounted to a complete disregard for the regulations and a risk to public health.”
