Grangemouth injury victim threatens to kill cops

John Kay (46) appeared at Falkirk Sheriff Court on Thursday having admitted behaving in a threatening manner at Forth Valley Royal Hospital on May 20.
Procurator fiscal depute Nhabeela Rahmatullah said Kay became involved in a heated argument with someone in the early hours of the morning and had to be taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital for treatment to a head injury sustained in an altercation.

Hide AdShe added: “While he was being processed he swore at police and told them to ‘take the cuffs off and have a go’. When he was being treated for his injury he said he would make complaints against staff
“He continued his threatening behaviour in the police vehicle, calling officers ‘scum’ and saying ‘just let ma and you in the cell, I’ll kill you’.”
The court heard Kay had suffered a heart attack two years ago.
Simon Hutchison, defence solicitor, said: “He had been the victim on this particular night. He was very emotional about what happened to him and he was aggrieved he was the only person lifted by police from the home that night.”

Hide AdSheriff Christopher Shead placed Kay, 34 Ochil Street, Grangemouth, on a supervised community payback order for 12 months and made him subject to a restriction of liberty order which means he will have to remain in his home between 7pm and 7am every day for the next five months.
