MSP welcomes drop in crime rate
Falkirk East MSP Angus MacDonald has welcomed a report stating crime in Scotland halved in the last 12 years.
The Scottish Crime and Justice Report found since 2008-09, the number of adults experiencing crime has fallen from 20.4 per cent to 11. 9 per cent.
Mr MacDonald said: “The findings are very much to be welcomed and is testament to the hard work and dedication of our police and community volunteers who have contributed to a phenomenal effort to make our streets safer.
“Although these figures are encouraging, this report does show there is work to be done to ensure that people feel safe on our streets and we will never be complacent.”
