Police hunt bogus workman who targeted elderly Stenhousemuir resident

Police officers are appealing for information after a bogus workman stole a four figure sum from an elderly resident in the Stenhousemuir area.

The incident happened at a property in Falkland Place, Stenhousemuir, during the morning and afternoon of Wednesday, February 10.

A man turned up at the property in the morning offering to carry out rough casting work. He returned later and took a four figure deposit for works to be carried out on March 23, however subsequently failed to return to the property to carry out the works.

Enquiries established the man provided false details.

He is white, between 21 and 40, 5ft 10ins tall, slim build with short fair hair and spoke with an local accent. He was wearing a blue jacket with the letter “P” on it, blue jeans and trainers and was seen driving off from the area in a Mini.
