Police in West Lothian are appealing for witnesses following a suspicious fire at a business premises in Winchburgh.

The incident happened around 11.20pm on Tuesday at the Core Cut facility in Braeside. Entry was forced to the grounds before starting a small fire within the workshop area.

Local officers attended along with the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and the fire was quickly extinguished. However, police are now keen to trace those responsible.

Detective Constable Ally Urquhart said: “Fortunately, no one was injured and there has not been significant damage to the premises.

“Nevertheless, this could have resulted in more serious consequences and we are eager to hear from anyone who can assist us with our investigation.

“If you remember seeing anything suspicious around the facility on Tuesday night then please contact police immediately.”
