Redding man who harassed ex set to discover punishment

A man who harassed his ex-partner and threatened her with violence will soon discover his fate.

Michael Paris, 45, 100 Gairloch Crescent, Redding, admitted repeatedly phoning the woman and sending unwanted messages to her in which he threatened her, her former partner and son on February 20 and 21, 2020.

He also breached bail by approaching the woman at B&M in Callendar Road, Falkirk without reasonable excuse on November 27.

Paris appeared at Falkirk Sheriff Court on Thursday.

His defence solicitor, Lynn Swann, told Sheriff Derek Livingston the case last called on March 18 and an assessment by social workers had still to be carried out.

The lawyer said: “His mother left messages with social work. He left his number on March 27 and didn’t hear anything back.”

Sheriff Derek Livingston said he would defer sentence until May 6 for an assessment for The Caledonian System domestic abuse programme. Bail was continued.
