Three men have been arrested for drugs offences following raids on West Lothian Council premises.

It is believed three council workers have been detained under the Misuse of Drugs Act after officers raided a number of premises, including a waste management depot, on Tuesday following a tip-off to police that employees were involved in drugs misuse at work.

The men aged 49, 43 and 34 will be reported to the Procurator Fiscal.

Detective Chief Inspector Stephen Healy said: “We are committed to tackling drugs offences wherever they arise and continue to liaise with West Lothian Council in relation to this operation.”

The raid was supported by West Lothian Council.

A spokesperson said: “West Lothian Council is co-operating fully in this matter. It is not appropriate for us to comment further at this time.”
