Three cars were stolen in an early-hours Linlithgow burglary when keys seized inside the house were used to drive away the vehicles parked outside.
Now police are appealing for witnesses to the crime, which happened around 3.20am at an address in Avontoun Park on Sunday (November 27).
Taken were a green Land Rover Defender, registration SK54 WUA; a silver Hyundai i20, registration EO62 UFN; and a silver Mazda MX5 – which was later recovered in Edinburgh’s West Pilton Drive.
The suspects wore dark clothing, but one was wearing a light grey hooded top and had blond hair.
Detective Inspector Paul Batten said: “The homeowners are deeply upset following the break-in to their home and theft of their cars, and we are continuing with our inquiries to trace the two outstanding vehicles.
“It is likely that those responsible will look to utilise these vehicles for committing further crimes and I would ask that anyone that sees the Land Rover or Hyundai contacts us immediately.
“In addition, anyone who saw any suspicious activity around Avontoun Park during the early hours of Sunday morning, or who has information that can help us trace the suspects, should also get in touch.”
Anyone with information should contact police by phoning 101.
