Trio of thugs sentenced after assaulting man at Grangemouth shop

Paul McLaughlan, Ryan Phillips and Shaun Randall, all 26, injured their victim by repeatedly punching and kicking him at Bowhouse Mini Market on March 11, 2018.
The man was also struck on the head with a bottle.
Speaking during last Thursday’s court hearing, Sheriff Derek Hamilton said he was considering imposing restriction of liberty orders.

Hide AdMartin Morrow, defence solicitor for McLaughlan, 13 Islay Court, Grangemouth, said his client works 7am-6pm.
Solicitor Stephen Biggam, representing Phillips, 4 Poolewe Drive, Redding, said his client was the “only one with a record”.
The solicitor for Randall, 52 Garry Place, Grangemouth, explained no time constraints were applicable for the first offender.
McLaughlan was made subject to a three-month, 7pm-5am restriction of liberty order.

Hide AdPhillips, who has a previous assault conviction, must remain home from 6pm-6am daily for four months.
Randall was made subject to a three-month, 6pm-6am order.
