Westquarter man slashed neighbour's car tyres over offensive comment about disabled children

Lindsay Baird, 51, 4 Oak Bank, Westquarter, admitted wilfully damaging property belonging to another by striking two tyres of a vehicle in Oak Bank on February 17, 2020.
Baird appeared at Falkirk Sheriff Court on Thursday.
Defence solicitor Simon Hutchison told Sheriff Derek Livingston his client had already paid “a minimum of £60” to the man.

Hide AdHowever, procurator fiscal depute Amy Sneddon said: “My office says it hasn’t received any money from this person.”
The solicitor told the court the cause of the incident related to an offensive comment made by the complainer concerning disabled children.
Mr Hutchison added: “My client was absolutely furious about what the gentleman had said.”
Sheriff Livingston ordered Baird to pay £90 in compensation for the damage he caused to the vehicle.
