Yodel driver delivers threats to Falkirk ex partner

Karim Dsouli (29) admitted sending a series of threatening WhatsApp messages to his ex partner and showed up at her house in Falkirk between August 9 and September 18 last year.

Dsouli, 15 Laurel Bank Court, East Calder, also pled guilty to breaching his bail conditions by contacting her in Lomond Drive, Langlees on January 30 this year.

At Falkirk Sheriff Court last Thursday, procurator fiscal depute Ann Orr said: “The accused had been in a relationship for seven-and-a-half years, but the relationship had ended about a month prior to the events and they were not living together at the time and were communicating through WhatsApp.

“The accused ended up accusing her of seeing somone else and wanted to know who she was seeing. He turned up at her house, coming in through the back door and the argument continued between them before the accused left the property.

“She was in her bed asleep at 7.30am and found the accused in her bedroom – he woke her up by kissing her on the forehead. This led to an argument. He had attended thinking he would find another man there.

“He said he let himself in and he wanted to see her telephone to see what messages where there to establish if she was receiving messages from somone else.”

After this incident the accused continued to send messages to his former partner, demanding to know what she was doing and who she was with.

Mrs Orr said: “He became fairly abusive, calling her names and he said he was going to ruin her life, find out who she was with and take action against him.”

The court heard it had beens an on and off relationship, but Dsouli, a Yodel delivery driver, now accepted it was over.

Sheriff Derek Hamilton placed Dsouli on a supervised community payback order for 18 months with the condition he complete 205 hours unpaid work within 12 months.
