Young Courtney Burke has a regal date set aside in her diary for August this year.
For on Saturday, August 9, 10 year-old Courtney will be crowned the Ferry Fair Queen for 2014.
Before a packed and welcoming High Street crowd, queen-elect Courtney will take centre stage.
The primary six pupil at Echline Primary is not a complete stranger to the Ferry Fair, having played the role of a posy girl when she was in primary one.
In the audience for Queensferry’s major annual event will be her mum Lorna and dad George with brothers, Jamie and Aiden.
And it will prove to be an extra-special day for the Burke family as Courtney’s younger brother Liam (9) takes on the role of crown-bearer.
Mum Lorna said: ‘‘We are really excited that Courtney has been chosen as the Ferry Fair Queen. When she found out, she called us from the school to say she was delighted to have been chosen.’’
Crowning Courtney will be Anne Watson, who for many years was a learning support teacher at St Margaret’s Primary School.
