Bo’ness may soon be welcoming home the new World darts champion.

Alan Norris, who succesfully saw off defending champion, Scott waites in their first round at the BDO 2014 World Darts championship, also slaughtered Glen Durrant in the next round meaning he has now walked straight into the quarter finals at the Lakeside Men’s World Professional Championships 2014.

Norris, who got the darts bug from his grandfather Sam, has gone from being ranked 547th in 2007 to now being in the top 20 according to the British Darts Organisation.

Alan still lives at home with his mum and dad and says he likes nothing better than returning to Bo’ness after a tournament to relax.

“I play in the Crown in Bo’ness when I’m home which is great as it really keeps me grounded. Theres no chance of me getting above my station with the boys in there, who are only too ready to issue a sharp reminder. They’re a great bunch who make me feel at home” said Alan.
