A Philpstoun woman has met Her Majesty the Queen – for the second time in a year!
May Millward was last year awarded an MBE for services to the community, including her work with Diabetes UK in West Lothian.
And on Tuesday of last week she was invited to a reception for the 80th anniversary of Diabetes UK and had the honour of being presented once again to Her Majesty.
The reception was hosted by Sir Peter Dixon, chairman of the Diabetes UK board.
Also present was group secretary Marylin Boland, West Lothian Volunteer of the Year 2014.
Said May: “I was delighted to represent all the volunteers throughout the UK who work so hard to carry out the aims of Diabetes UK at local level.
“It is also good to have recognition for my efforts in developing the West Lothian Diabetes Scotland Group into one of the most pro-active in the country.
“I could only have achieved this with the support of a team of committed volunteers.”
