Hundreds of rubber ducks have proven to be one of the highest annual earners for The Rotary Club of Linlithgow and Bo’ness!

The annual Peoples Duck Race, held this year at Lochmill burn on June 9, saw 900 ducks being sold, earning the club an amazing £1800 for good causes.

The community services committee decided to allocate £700 each to the Deacons Court, Linlithgow Gala Day and the training section of Linlithgow Reed Band.

Present to collect the cheques on behalf of these organisations were Jim Carlin, senior baillie of the Deacons Court, Evelyn Kidd, chair of the Gala Day committee, and Seonaid Scott, vice president of the Reed Band.

They were presented with their cheques by the chairman of the community services committee, Marshall Templeton.

The idea was hatched by Rotarian Ian Gibson, the proprietor of Platform 3, nine years ago who was also on hand to oversee the cheque presentation.
