Edinburgh Airport flying high with record number of passengers

Passenger numbers at Edinburgh airport have exceeded one million for the sixth month in a row.

October saw 1,004,439 people pass through the airport doors, a 9.7 per cent increase from the same month last year.

Chief executive, Gordon Dewar said: “The last six months have been a tremendous achievement for Edinburgh Airport and shows we are a key driver for Scotland’s economic growth.”

Edinburgh Western MSP Colin Keir welcomed the news. He said: “I am delighted to see the airport being raised to an international level.

“It is a great achievement for all the staff.”
